Jacqueline B. Kessel founded HiTech Law in 1994 after running her own software company in California. Ms. Kessel merged her practice, which focuses on technology licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law, with McQuaid, Bedford & Van Zandt LLP in August of 2006. As an entrepreneur and founder of a startup company as well as an attorney, Ms. Kessel is able to bring both business and legal experience in representing her clients.
A British native, Ms. Kessel has over 30 years of business experience in the U.S. and abroad. She worked in international marketing and public relations in both the U.K. and South Africa before moving to California with her husband to start their own software technology company. Her client base is not only focused in the Bay Area but also internationally. Ms. Kessel represents clients in Vietnam, China, India, Spain, Italy, England and France, among others.
Ms. Kessel has been profiled by her alma mater, Pepperdine University School of Law, and by The San Jose Mercury News, as one of the few women lawyers in the Silicon Valley who own their own law firm. In 2003, Ms. Kessel was named by the San Jose Magazine as one of the Silicon Valley's Top 300 Lawyers.
